Lexington Park resident Tracy Evan Hemsley was apprehended by police in St. Mary's County following a reported trespassing incident that led to an alleged violent assault, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies from the sheriff’s office responded to the 21700 block of Kearsarge Place in Lexington Park on Thursday, June 30, where there was a report of Hemsley trespassing in the residence, the agency announced on Tuesday, July 5.
It is alleged that Hemsley pushed his victim to the ground while holding a child and began to kick his victim in the head, leaving visible signs of injury.
The victim was transported to an area hospital, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said, and Hemsley was arrested without further incident.
Hemsley was charged with:
- First-degree assault;
- Two counts of second-degree assault;
- Second-degree child abuse.
No return court date has been announced for Hemsley.
